Adventure Updates

Ninety miles from Key West is a time-capsule world, Maugham’s “sunny place for shady people, Hemingway’s mythic realm of fishing and drinking, a salty, open-air museum of timeworn Chryslers and Chevys. Cigars? Sadly, Cuba's great legacy is no longer supported by fact. Like nearly everything else here, the epic smokes craved by statesmen and titans of capitalism are but a pale imitation of what they were in their glory days. The potent rums and seductive rhythms retain their allure, the crumbling cities beckon, as if from an irreclaimable past.

      GALAPAGOS View Images
Nowhere in the world is the evolution of species demonstrated with such clarity as in the Galapagos Islands. Inspired in these Islands Charles Darwin developed the theory of evolution by natural selection, the basis of the understanding of the origin of species.

      ALASKA View Images
Dramatic mountains and immense glaciers, rivers thick with migrating salmon, lush forested islands draped in mist and mystery, northern lights dancing across the winter sky....these are but a few of the ways to describe the diversity of Alaska.  This is still a place where Native peoples follow their sustinence way of life and where wildlife is truly wild - foraging grizzlies, herds of caribou filling a valley and polar bear on the ice pack.

      CAMBODIA View Images

A heart shaped country nurtured by the Mekong River, Cambodia once ruled the delta as a mighty empire.  Over a period of 300 years, between 900 and 1200 AD, the Khmer Kingdom of Angkor produced some of the world's most magnificent architectural masterpieces, near the present town of Siem Reap. After the brutality of the Khmer Rouge during the 1970s and 80's, it is only in recent years that reconstruction efforts have begun and some political stability has finally returned to Cambodia.

      PEOPLE View Images
In portraits one looks for the unguarded moment, the essential soul peeking out or experience etched on a person's face. The images speak a desire for human connection; people open themselves to the camera with the anticipation that at the other end someone else will be watching. These faces represent chance connections in a world of hope

      PLACES View Images
The places we visit leave an indellible imprint on our lives. Through exposure to various cultures, religions and people of the world, we learn tolerance and acceptance. The world has many places, old and new, all just waiting to be discovered and enjoyed.

      WILDLIFE View Images
For wild animals, each day is a struggle to survive, so every sense must remain on high alert. This edgy, taut-nerved vigilance shows in the eyes and posture of both predators and prey.   But as the numbers of wild animals dwindle, so too are the opportunities to see them in their natural state.
