ALIEN INTELLIGENCE & THE FLYING ENERGY ORBS: A VIEW INTO MYSTERY
MOSTLY REGARDING THE UK
The Julian Calendar says it's the 9th of May 2002, and we greet with interest what appears to be a newly active Window Area in the mysterious green deserts of Wales. OKOKians are, of course, already familiar with the 'Welsh Triangle' Psyzone of St Bride's Bay-Haverfordwest-Milford Haven in Dyfed, West Wales, the scene of an extended UFO flap in 1977, when craft were witnessed entering a door in Stack Rocks out in St Bride's Bay, to the possible subterranean UFO base beneath the rock. We also know well the other Window Area that is the band of country extending inland to almost 15 miles South of the North Wales coastline, stretching from Colwyn Bay to Shotton, covering parts of the counties Clwyd and Gwynedd, where periodic outbreaks of odd phenomena including UFO sightings and close encounters happen, with notable Waves in 1984 and late 1985 to early 1986.
We realise that Wales has a remarkable number of Window Areas for its relatively small geographical size, that is why we reside here, and now we have further confirmation in the plethora of reports coming in to OKOK HQ concerning the heightened UFO activity that is continuing around the Aber Falls area of Gwynedd, the scenic popular beauty spot and National Nature Reserve situated between the Carneddau mountain range and the North Wales coast, that sports a winding nature trail and spectacular picturesque waterfall, said to be one of the steepest in England and Wales. Aber Falls is a place long associated with weird spectral phenomena and eerie nocturnal displays.
The UFOs have all been described as fast moving globes of white light, approx 100 feet in diameter or less, that tend to move in low at about 35 degrees to the ground, on course to apparently land somewhere in the nearby mountains, or even the sea. Suspiciously ZERO coverage of the sightings have appeared in the local media, which, unless our "friends in the Domes" have ordered a news blackout, may reflect the public's growing sense of distrust of the official agencies. The populace do not report cases to the usual authorities anymore, which is a good sign.
We should keep a close eye on Aber in the coming months, and seek our own explanations, as we recall an OKOK Expedition some several years ago to the vicinity, where during the day we witnessed a member's dog going berserk and barking at something in the distance we couldn't see, then later that same night there was an encounter with an unseen beast that attacked the leg of the sleeping form of the dog's owner, whilst she was asleep in a tent with her partner. This area is also the scene of repeated sightings, even by normally skeptical people, of clusters of mysterious glowing spheres, ping-pong sized or larger, dazzling sparklets with electric vividness, that move with purpose in intelligent formation across the landscape and through people's homes. They may also appear singularly. Ramblers who encounter them are then prone to auditory/visual hallucinations and transcendental trance states, which makes the location so jolly splendid for Psychogeographical explorations, edged on as you walk over the ground during tramps in the marshy districts of Autumned Wales your very footsteps become luminous.
Yes, both on land and in sea there are such things as strange phosphorescent bacteria that live on dead matter and naturally glow with bright electric luminosity. The owl may brush against them so they mingle as light in the feathers - the incandescent shine owl flys through the darkened night. There are ejected from the earth gaseous methane and sulphur clouds in graveyards and marshy districts which are then ignited by the rubbing legs of crickets or the chance spark of falling iron pyrite rocks. There is St. Elmo's Fire, the weird dancing light accompanied by a crackling sound, which clings to the masts and yards of ships, caused by electrical discharges interacting with certain atmospheres during thunderstorms. There is the phenomena of triboluminescence (the production of light by means of friction), which can be demonstrated by the party trick of cracking a sugar cube between the teeth in a dark room, the ensuing flash of light from the mouth causing astonishment in the audience. Or two pieces of quartz crystal rubbed together can light up a darkened room like candlelight. Yet here we are talking about an altogether different phenomenon: the Occult Faery Lights seen throughout the world, known in various locations as the Will-o'-the-Wisp, Jack-o'-Lantern, Jack-of-the-Bright-Light, Joan-in-the-Wad, Kitty Candlestick, Sylham Lamp, Weize, Spunkie, Pinket, Wildfire, Fox Fire, Fairy Fire, Ignis Fatuus, Feu Follet, Elf Light, Friar's Lantern, William-with-the-Little-Flame, Fetch Candle or Fetch Light (a Fetch being the folklore-name for a person's shadowy counterpart or double), or simply Spook Light.
Much of the traditional popular folklore surrounding the Faery Lights regards them with fear or terror, as the dreaded 'Corpse Candle' (as they were often seen hovering above or rising from graves or moving to and from or about cemeteries), which could be a portent of death should it visit an ill person or violent house. Or they were known as the 'Foolish Fire' (because only a fool would follow it), a highly dangerous supernatural entity which took great delight in making the unwary or reckless traveller follow it and hopelessly lose their way, to be left floundering in an uncharted bog or pool, the Orb sometimes disguising itself as a beautiful young girl or a crock of silver or gold for this purpose. The modern day expression of a "leading light" (of the company or whatever) comes from this older source. Yet according to the lore the Mysterious Globes always had a dual nature - sometimes they would lure a person to their great peril or even death; whilst at other times they would lead the person out of danger or even to treasure.
In more modern times they are often mistaken for glowing owls, burning gas clouds and ball lightning by the skeptics and others who know no better (for instance, burning methane rising from decomposing matter may explain some sightings, but not those which do not produce heat, or that appear solid and of a non-flickering light, or move about through the air, even against prevailing winds. Even the term 'ball lightning' is somewhat misleading, its scientific gloss masking the unknown. Ball lightning is so-called as it tends to appear during electrical, thundery weather, yet it displays coherent forms that defy rational explanation and behaves in ways not associated with electrical events as presently understood. It clearly possesses characteristics that elude our present understanding of physics. Many scientific papers have been written trying to explain the phenomenon with suggestions ranging from anti-matter to standing waves of electromagnetism, but none have been completely successful. Furthermore, Light Globes are sometimes reported that are classified as 'clear sky' ball lightning, when no thundery conditions are local to the event. Ball lightning can take on many colours and range from pea-size to the dimensions of a beachball or larger. Although usually round, it can also appear in such shapes as cylinders, spheres with protrusions, and dumbbell forms. Some forms are translucent or even transparent, or cloudy, opaque. There are even accounts of totally black phenomena occurring in similar circumstances to ball lightning. The phenomena can hover, float languidly, fall to the ground, remain stationary, or move as if purposefully. With its plasma showers of ozone-smelling sparks and TV and radio interference effects it may itself be linked to the UFO phenomena or other paranormal activity).
These mysterious Odic Orbs tend to flicker or pulsate, or glow constantly, moving about with sentience in strange directions, as if trying to entice the witness into following them. There are also stories of the Light chasing a terrified victim through mud and brambles until he or she is confused and then leaving them with the sound of mocking laughter. Weird moving balls of light have been seen in natural and artificial mountains, such as the legendary Welsh mountain Cader Idris, whose volcanic walls rises above Dolgellau, near Barmouth. Idris was a giant who is said to have studied the stars. The lore is that anyone who spends the night on its summit will return down the mountain either mad or a poet (genius). The mountain has also been associated with the Hounds of the Otherworld, the Cwn Annwn (see John Rhys, Celtic Folklore, 1901; Wildwood House edition, 1980) and there is a tradition that strange lights are seen round its peak on the first night of a new year (Janet and Colin Bord, The Secret Country, Elek, 1976). A member of the Institut Egyptien, William Goff, spent a night in the desert near the Pyramids of Giza, when, during the middle of the evening, he saw a light "like a small flame" turn slowly round the Third Pyramid. After three circuits, the flame disappeared. Around 11 PM, he noticed the same light again, but this time it was a bluish colour. It rose slowly almost in a straight line, to a certain height above the Pyramid's summit and then disappeared. Goff later discovered that the Bedouin had traditions regarding the existence of the light "stretching back centuries" (see Paul Brunton, A Search in Secret Egypt, 1936).
The Lorefilled Lights often appear near bodies of water - especially lakes and reservoirs, but also rivers and waterfalls. The light is often unusual in nature, very bright, but defined and without rays. They like to haunt quarries, rocky ridges, mines and caves. Some witnesses have reported air pressure and temperature changes in the vicinity of the lightforms, or the hearing of a buzzing in the ears, or humming or whistling sounds. They are sometimes accompanied by columns of gaseous material. They move quickly, in any direction. Fiery coloured, violet, amber, yellow, or white globes of light are the norm, but colour changing and shapeshifting are common. When white lights are closely observed a red center is frequently remarked upon, and sometimes a teeming inner activity is seen. Some reports suggest they have mass, others that they are weightless. It seems as if they are on the very edge of physical manifestation, which may explain why some show up on radar whilst others do not.
We can regard them as a form of ghost, UFO or inter-dimensional being by logical deducement: for a common factor that emerges in many reports is the capacity of such Faery Lights - as with many species of paranormal entities - to go through solid objects such as walls, doors and windows. Generally, such Lights appear to be white; although often manifest pale blue or purple (a fair number of ghost sighting accounts mention the phantasm as being enveloped in a kind of haze, mist, halo or aura of bluish or purple light), or of a green or red glow (in the latter case sometimes so distinctly that witnesses, even from a distance, imagine for a moment or more that a building is on fire). Thus the true association of the 'Corpse Candle' with death may be that it is an actual spirit of a recently departed soul (although in past times the Mandrake plant was called by some the 'Devil's Candle', as it was supposed to shine out baleful gleams upon dark nights). Spectral manifestations such as the 'Lady and the Lantern' lurking amongst the marble statuary of a monastery garden; the gleaming 'Silky' whom horses refuse to pass; the 'Radiant Boy' who makes no noise yet casts a shadow before himself; and myriad other ghostly lights may all be of a related shapeshifting psychic clan. Here in Wales we have the traditional Welsh ghost called the 'Cyhyraeth', who roams the beaches with its shrieks and groans, appearing as a floating light.
In their classic 'Orb' form they have been still photographed and recorded on infra-red video film on many occasions, and have sometimes even been depicted in sculpture as in the 'Giant Balls' of Costa Rica, discovered in the 1930s by workmen clearing part of the thick jungle for a banana plantation. They found there dozens of stone balls, many of which were perfect spheres, ranging in size from a few inches to 8 feet in diameter, as seen in the photographs above. Made mostly of worked and smoothed granite, they are said to be in their hundreds, possibly thousands, and have been found in groups numbering up to forty five, sometimes arranged in long straight or curving lines, and sometimes in a triangular formation. They were also placed in people's gardens as a good luck and protection charm, whilst others have been cracked open by the local inhabitants, who believed they contained treasure. Some of the stone balls have been seen to move of their own volition, rolling about the countryside on some strange mission, and certain people claim to have seen the smaller ones pass through solid rock, producing the holed stones much revered by sorcerers. This is not as unusual as it may at first sound - poltergeist activity sometimes occurs in the immediate vicinity of Earth Light outbreaks, and over the same period, as well as other 'physical' paranormal phenomena such as brief electrical failures and effects on radio and TV reception.
As to the nature of the Flying Light Orbs, judging from their obviously sentient, inquisitive and intelligent behaviour (appearing and disappearing, changing speed, zig-zagging, moving against the wind, emitting brilliant 'searchlight' beams, dropping 'angel hair', many merging into one, or one splitting into many) and the curious effects contact with them produces in us, makes one conclude that they indeed are spirits of some kind, human or non-human. Their archetypal brilliant white colour and globular shape seems like the most natural and logical form such energy-beings would choose to exist as; and it seems an easy transition for a blob of living energy to transform itself into the manifestation of a semi-solid, glowing humanoid. There are amazing photographs taken by laser beam of liquid droplets of electricity. Consciousness also takes the same spherical shape, like subatomic globes of luminosity, each of these glowing with intelligent life, performing a specific task in the nervous system. Could not the Flying Light Orbs be a more complex entity carrying out tasks in the outside world? The Lights usually hold to well-defined, geometrical shapes. Sometimes they shapeshift, but usually from one amorphous shape to another. But occasionally, vaguely human-like, anthropomorphic, shapes are glimpsed within the light energy ('occupants') and sometimes, the lights themselves can take on such forms. Whatever they are, they are nothing simple...
In ancient times, spectral fires were seen on the burial mounds of Northern Europe and were believed to be the souls of dead warriors, guarding the treasure which had been buried with them; in German folklore, the Light is thought to be the soul of someone who in life moved or disregarded a boundary marker to steal part of a neighbour's land; the Finnish 'Liekkio' ('Flaming One') is the soul of a child who has been buried in the forest. From my own experience of them, I am personally inclined to believe that these single light's or light clusters, usually nocturnal and displaying ostensible self-directed action, yet having no obvious solidity, are extra-terrestrial entities; whilst other moderns regard them as living beings of an unknown kind but native to our atmosphere: faeries, positive guardians and helpers, who bless the world around them; or more mischievous beings - ghost-light displays being often associated with poltergeist outbreaks; although others have even suggested that they are the departed spirits of the Druids...
Someone is driving along in their van to dump an old television and other stuff over the fence into a woodland glade, when they see or don't see the Orb which follows them for some moments. Then they decide that perhaps it's not such a good idea to put the rubbish there after all, and continue to drive to the official refuse site... A world weary man enters the wood to hang himself. As he ties the knot in the rope around the tree branch he glimpses out of the corner of his eye what he thinks to be a firefly or glow worm. He can't quite put his finger on exactly why, but suddenly feels that killing himself would be such a waste, so he leaves smiling, to write a book about the healing powers of trees, enriching many peoples understanding of them... A frustrated woman is walking in the hills at night, not knowing how to solve her stultified existence. She thinks she sees someone flashing a torch for a second, then walks on. A short while later she is overwhelmed when she catches the Moon glinting silver in an owl's eyes perched high in the hollow of a majestic oak, casting deep occult import, that was just what she needed to kickstart her psychic and artistic abilities, which lead her to a whole new way of looking at the world as she never looks back...
In our modern materialistic age we tend to forget that the Druids were real and performed some heavy duty magic in these lands, a magic whose vestiges can still be felt, especially here in the wilder parts of North Wales where the Druids established their main Temple Groves. Why shouldn't their advanced, wise and initiated souls stay on here after physical death, to protect their sacred landscape and assist in revealing to others the secrets and guidance of Nature, which they so revered and respected in life? Perhaps the work of these noble aspirations were the highest goal of the Druid initiatory system?
Manifesting several years after the great 'Airship' UFO flap of America, these Radiant Floating Lights came to our national awareness in the so-called 'Winter of Weirdness' of 1904-1905, documented by arch chronicler of the Wyrd, Charles Fort. This was a time of widespread uncanny occurrences throughout Great Britain, during the remarkably energised religious revival centered in Wales and eventually moving across the border into England.
Strange, luminous things or beings were regularly observed at the sites of the fervoured Welsh revival meetings, sometimes descending and moving amongst the worshippers, especially where the Welsh Seeress, Mrs Mary Jones (see photograph left), one of the charismatic leaders of the revival, was preaching, in the scattered hamlet of Egryn on the West coast area of Merionethshire (now part of Gwynedd), between Barmouth and Harlech. From December 1904 to July 1905, her church meetings were often accompanied by light phenomena in forms such as spheres, columns or triangles, of brilliant blue, blood-red, deep yellow or dazzling white, that were hovering, travelling steadily or at lightning speed. Other reports tell of lights splitting up; colliding together causing explosions; globes of light issuing "radiations"; pillars of light spewing lightballs or issuing smoky vapour; aurora-like effects; and lights in exotic shapes.
The outbreak of the lights connected to Mary's spiritual activity seems to have begun with a great arch of light, akin to an aurora borealis, with one end resting in the sea and the other on the mountaintops about a mile inland. The phenomena of the lights was especially present at Egryn Chapel (see photograph above). During her sermons and at other times, balls of light played around the Chapel roof, emerged from the fields on either side, skipped along the hillside behind it, and hovered over the road. Another much-seen manifestation was a luminous star, with the quality of "a quickly vibrating light - as though full of eyes..." as one man described it, which revealed to Mary what to expect at the meetings. When the star was present, glowing placidly on the roof of the chapel, the spiritual character of the meeting became very strong. The ardent, glowing star would also lead her to potential new members of the congregation, hovering over certain houses, casting a benign radiance, and when Mary went to these paracosmic-illuminated dwellings she would find the occupants awaiting her visit, who would invariably turn up at her next meeting, eager to be converted.
To Mary the star was a divine guidance, invariably heralding other strange lights, the star melting into the background when they appeared, as the effulgent globes associated with her in an unknown way, sometimes even following her car along the roads, as the Orbs were wont to do some 70 years later in Wales when they chased the car of the Coombs family of Ripperston Farm, as well as cavorting through fields and hovering at windows, during the Dyfed 'Welsh Triangle' UFO flap, where they appeared to act as 'scouts' for the larger craft nearby (being surely related to, or another actual appearance of, the phenomenon of 'Foo Fighters' seen by many airplane pilots and their crews during World War II. The Germans thought they were secret devices of the Allies. The Allies thought they were of German origin. Foo Fighters were usually described as "fireballs" or "glowing disks" which would appear either singly or in group formations, ranging from a few inches to several feet in size, glowing with various colours and seeming to be intelligently controlled. Foo Fighters would follow along with the planes, appear and disappear, and manoeuvre in strange fashion. Obviously, they too may be 'scanning saucers', 'instrument craft' or 'electronic eyes' sent out from spaceship UFOs and directed by remote control to gather data: sending back physical samples, sound and vision recordings and even telepathic impressions for permanent storage on the Mother Ship.
In this regard, note that Airman John Burroughs has stated that balls of light came out from the main UFO during the now infamous 1980 Rendlesham Forest Saucer incident in Suffolk. Such balls of light had been seen in the area many years before this. UFO literature by the likes of John Mack and Budd Hopkins shows how football or larger or smaller sized bluish-white globes of light are often present during alien close encounter and abduction aspects of the UFO experience, which sometimes paralyse or immobilise the victim). These manifestations of the Living Lights, as well as the associated UFOs and humanoid figures tended to appear either on, or more often closely adjacent to, a Ley Line, as demonstrated by Randall Jones Pugh and F.W. Holiday in The Dyfed Enigma, Faber and Faber, 1979. The high importance of the Light Orb-Ley Line correlation will be explored later.
The mysterious, starlike orbs of the revival lights, so like the UFOs that appear as 'lights in the sky' were also witnessed by streetwise urbanite newspaper reporters from the Manchester Guardian, Daily Mail and Daily Mirror who arrived from London and other cities in February 1905 to cover the escalating ecclesiastical events. One of whom reported in the London Daily Mail of February 13th that he saw a "brilliant ball of fire in the sky, that was motionless then gradually disappeared, later reappearing near the ground a few hundred yards away". As he ran towards it, the thing disappeared again. There were also police reports of the teleportation of objects and people (a phenomenon which again reoccured years later at Ripperston Farm during the 'Welsh Triangle' Dyfed flap, when a herd of dairy cows was teleported from one field to another), unexplainable knockings and rappings, phantom bicyclists and large black dogs, cases of spontaneous human combustion and the unseen slayings of sheep and poultry, the corpses drained of blood with the flesh almost untouched, a Victorian precursor to the more modern day cattle mutilations perhaps. Also in that same year of the revival the Men In Black made their presence felt, to a woman who reported how "a man dressed in black" had appeared suddenly in her house, as if by Man In Black Magic, who told her "secrets" that she was instructed not to reveal.
Also in 1905, balls of light were seen to emerge from the field in which the Chapel at Llanfair, south of Harlech, stands. One May night a clergyman saw "lurid" balls of light emerge from the field. Many of these flickered and went out, but some gained in brilliance and flew off out of sight. Balls of light were also observed dancing above the crossroads between Harlech and Barmouth (now the A496). A distinct entity was reported by local journalist Beriah Evans, who stated in a despatch to the Guardian (16th February 1905) that a strange light effect was witnessed near Bryncrug, a village to the South of the main Barmouth-Egryn area - a professional man and a local farmer from another viewpoint suddenly saw a gigantic human figure rising over the hedgerow, with the right arm extended over the road. Then a ball of fire appeared above, and a long white ray, descending, pierced the figure, which vanished. Only this long ray was white; the other shorter rays were blue. As we have seen above, today bluish-white light phenomena are associated with UFOs and their occupants.
The mid-Wales Orbic Lights of Revival, first seen around December 1904, receeded after July 1905, when the initial phase of their mission was completed, yet continue to be seen sporadicly long after Mary Jones and her work have been forgotten. The Shropshire hamlet of Linley was the scene of light and poltergeist phenomena in 1913. Balls of light were seen forming on the tower and rolling down the sides of the Norman church of St Leonard's. The stone circle of Castlerigg near the Cumbrian town of Keswick is known for the 1919 detailed sighting of extraordinary lights which played lazily about above this prehistoric site. The church at Burton Dassett, Warwickshire, was a chief focus of light phenomena during the early 1920s. In more modern times, other strange events have been recorded at Barmouth, where Mary Jones had walked, ranging from alien abductions to a local sea monster that has appeared from time to time. During 1995-96 walkers claimed that the hills surrounding Barmouth were literally humming, this and related sounds such as high-pitched insectoid whistling or rasping being a classic sign of UFO and alien activity.

Fryer's Psychological Aspects of the Welsh Revival: 1904-5, a study compiled at the time of the events makes intriguing reading, as it contains many first-hand reports of the lights and other strange phenomena. For those who wish to research the Light Globe phenomena in general, probably the best books to date on the subject are Paul Devereux [with Paul McCartney], Earth Lights, Turnstone Press, 1982; and his sequel [with David Clarke, Andy Roberts and Paul McCartney], Earth Lights Revelation, Blandford Press, 1989.)
We can see magical mechanisms at work here - doing strange things attracts strange things... The wild frenzies of the revivalists, drunk on God exhilarations throwing off psycho-electro-magnetical waves of excitement that flowed freely from the piously demented human batteries, attracting then feeding the phosphorescent UFOs that grew and glowed, the collective ecstasies of the large crowds a single unit greater than the sum of its parts, evoking and nourishing the shimmering supernatural apparitions. This same ritual was (unconsciously?) performed some sixty years later by large groups of attuned young people at Flower Power rock festivals, over which UFOs were sometimes witnessed. Ancient man used drugs, acoustics, atmosphere and the trance dance to open doorways to other dimensions - and their turned on hippy descendants used the same techniques, though arguably more sophisticated (exotic drug cocktails, light shows, amplification etc).
As George C. Andrews states in Extra-Terrestrials Among Us, Llewellyn, 1995, it brings to mind the dowser T. C. Lethbridge's theory that the stone circles of antiquitary were used for tribal ecstatic round dancing, which builds up a cone of energy that was tapped by UFOs hovering overhead, the stones acting like 'accumulators' that were charged like batteries by the sacred dancing and invocations, containing and intensifying the generated power within their perimeter as a Magic Circle, and preventing it from seeping out into the surrounding countryside, where it may have caused havoc. Instead it was concentrated and sent upwards, signalling the aliens and enabling a spacecraft to home in on the stones. The very shape of these monuments and their chosen position on top of remote mountains and hills, instead of more convenient positions nearer the settlements was intentional, so that they would be more easily seen from the air as a landing zone. The stones are Mystery Incarnate. Only a few adepts know for certain who erected these monuments or why, as the original builders had no writing and left no documents behind to explain. Despite the erudite suppositions of the scholars, these sites were not dwelling houses, as ancient man preferred to build with wood, a much lighter and easier material to work with. They were not burial grounds, for few bodies are ever found there. Many of the stone circles pre-date the Druids (who claim them as their Temples), by at least a thousand years, being designed and constructed by even mysteriouser adepts or entities.
Other remote megalithic sites include such mysteries as the vitrified rock forts. Numerous in Scotland, where there are over sixty of them, but also found in England, Ireland, France and Germany, these ancient oval ramparts of stones were later used as fort defences. The upper layers of the walls now consist, not of dry stones, but of melted rock. These can still be seen, the most impressive being the one atop the Tap O'Noth mountain (shown above) near the village of Rhynie in North East Scotland, where vast blocks are still in position, the once individual stones now black and cindery, fused together by a heat that must have been so intense that molten rivers of rock once flowed down them, cooling to form a material extremely hard and glassy. Some claim this was the result of immense enemy bonfires designed to destroy the forts, but no fire of wood attains a high enough temperature to vitrify stone and turn it to glass. Others suggest this anomaly was the outcome of alien attack using laser beam weapons, or an unexpected beneficial gift from the aliens to mankind, created where random UFOs once landed and took off, the intense and focused energy rays from the spacecraft's propulsion drives affecting the molecular structure of the surrounding rock in an unplanned way. Many modern day UFO witnesses report being burned by a strange invisible radiation given off by the UFOs, and burn marks in the ground and on surrounding vegetation where UFOs land are common.
Many such vitrified rock and other ancient sites still radiate unusual, sometimes disturbing psychic energies that can be detected by dowsing or sophisticated electronic equipment. The energy wave patterns given off at such places were obviously recognized by the ancients, whose psychic abilities saw the waveforms as whorls, spirals, zigzags and concentric circles and recorded them by carving these designs on the stone circles themselves. Some of the other cup and ring markings, especially those which come in clusters were made by the Saucer energy beams themselves, as the UFOs have a tendency to wobble and oscillate as they hover above. The use of this natural earth energy was well known to the ancients, who built their major sacred sites at places where many Ley Lines cross and intersect, forming a spiral vortex of tremendous energy force that was used to effect miraculous magics, where the Priests and Priestesses would shape the free energy into a thoughtform or tulpa entity as they are known in Tibet, or perform a specific type of intent-ritual at one of these sites, whereupon the energy produced was carried on the force lines wavelength emanating from the vortex to flow along throughout the connected Ley Line network of the aetheric grid that covers the whole country, affecting the vibrational state of the Earth's electro-magnetic field within which we all live. This is why so many Christian churches were built on ancient Pagan sites and why so many Satanic rituals are performed in churches under the cover of darkness. Those who control the transmissions from the important sacred site stations control the entire land. This is subliminal programming and mind control that is far more effective than a police state or the mass media propaganda, as it is invisible and goes unsuspected, working undetected, and so is not resisted, allowing the messages to go straight to the subconscious minds of the targeted populace.
Many of the modern day motorway networks and compulsory purchase orders instigated by the government are a cover for the manipulation of these psychic Ley Channels. This is why the road protestors were treated with such intolerance and violence, their opposition had to be stopped quickly, as it was necessary to complete a certain circuit before the Eclipse of the Sun. Underground bunker and tunnel complexes are being secretly constructed at certain important sites below the motorway, especially where several Leys intersect straight through the secret subterranean ritual chamber itself, making any ritual performed therein of astounding effectiveness. Many cases of 'subsidence' and pot holes that appear in the roads above are the side effects of the concentrated vibrational energies that are projected under the tarmac. In this context perhaps, we find that the Glowing Globes are also connected to the infamous Rennes-le-Chateau mystery and the Priory of Sion. It is said that the Abbe Sauniere, the priest who discovered the hidden coded parchments, artefacts or some other treasure in the church there (whose location and surroundings are full of Sacred Geometry and Leys) would, with his faithful housekeeper Marie Denarnaud, often dig at night in the graveyard of the church, the nocturnal excavations causing a local scandal. Claire Corbu and Antoine Captier transmit in their L'Heritage de l'abbe Sauniere, Editions Belisane, 1995, that after Sauniere's death, Marie sold the grand house Villa Bethania (which Sauniere had built with his unexplained wealth in the grounds of his domaine) to a businessman in 1946, on the condition that she could live out the rest of her life there. According to the businessman's daughter, who lived there as a child, Marie visited Sauniere's grave every day - and in the middle of the night. Marie told the child that on some of these visits she had been, "followed by the will-o'-the wisps of the cemetery". When asked if she was afraid, she replied, "I am used to it...I walk slowly, they follow me...when I stop, they stop as well, and when I close the cemetery gate, they always disappear". Mysterious Flying Lights are also mentioned by Whitley Strieber in The Hidden Choir chapter of his bestselling non-fictional book Communion, Arrow, 1988. In a transcribed account of a 1986 meeting between eleven Contactees, including Strieber, these Otherworldy Orbs are described as appearing to him and some of the others as a sign of the presence of UFOs and alien visitation.
As explained above, magical energy is concentrated, shaped and directed by the ritual dance. This is why legends of dancing are so often associated with stone circles, usually consisting of people being turned to stone for dancing on the Sabbath - an example of early Christian mind-control propaganda to stop the locals through fear from performing the ancient Pagan UFO Dance of the Spiral and effecting their environment for themselves. The sacred sites of stone are potent Gateways to the Other, and today unusual experiences continue to occur in their vicinity. A case known to me concerns a person touching the North Stone of the Rollright Circle and being thrown seven feet backwards. At the same site a group of three (one man and two women) came to perform an occult ritual, only to come running out in tears and distress about an hour later, saying that things had been attacking them and trying to possess them. On questioning, it was discovered that they had begun by casting a magic circle. This has also happened to other people who started by casting a circle. The forces and inter-dimensional entities present at such sites are ancient and strong, and should be respected. They do not appreciate the insulating attempts of arrogant humans attempting to keep them at bay in their own dwelling place. Others have 'met' people at these sites, who weren't there physically, such as at West Kennet long barrow in Wiltshire, long renowned as a catalyst of weird experiences, and within Stanton Drew in Somerset, whose stones, supposedly uncountable, are said to be wedding guests petrified by the Devil. Here a black woman, very tall and regal, and with very short hair appeared to a researcher, claiming to have been around there for a very long time, an assertion confirmed by the look in her eyes. Another interesting phenomena witnessed at the sites are the things that try to pretend to be trees and bushes when you look at them, although not terribly successfully.
One interesting theory about the purpose of stone circles is that they were designed as very large Talismans, to attract a particular kind of energy or entity, which would be felt by the sensitized consciousness of the worshippers during magickal rituals conducted at the site as the Talisman of Stone was charged by the circle dance. This would explain the different type, number and layout of the stones used at many of the locations, each plan representing different characteristics and correspondences relating to the desired energy needed. In the case of crop circle 'hoaxing', it could be said that the construction of a crop circle is in actual fact the construction of a magick circle, as found in the occult. What many people don't realise is that spirits are very attracted to any sort of paranormal practice, even the discussion of the subject, which is why you shouldn't talk about demons and other negative entities whilst driving. Even if the crop circle is being made in a humourous way, the activity will still attract certain spirits and other intelligences. After the circle has been made the exhausted 'croppies' sit inside the center and meditate, unconsciously or not, sending energy into the circle and drawing energy from it. In this heightened state of awareness genuine paranormal experiences often occur, ranging from from nosebleeds and severve headaches to beams of light descending from the sky overhead and visitations by the Flying Energy Globes, UFO encounters, even, according to some, meetings with alien humanoid type beings - the same events that have occurred at sacred stone sites.
The crop circles are manmade, as are the stone circles. Perhaps the makers of crop circles or 'trans-time crop glyphs' have intuitively rediscovered the ancient lost art of natural magic - the working with large symbolic emblems placed onto the Earth's energy system itself. Maybe they are being guided by a higher intelligence or group overmind, the symbols they are urged to create being deep subconscious expressions of archetypal truths, written in the universal pictorial language, or they are the names of extra-terrestrials which act as homing beacons, calling our distant friends from another dimension... A related theory is that the stone circles, megaliths and mounds were constructed in deep antiquitary for a Cosmic Reason, under alien supervision, being somehow geocentrically and celestially aligned to give access to time travel, thereby functioning as time portals. It was possible to acquire access to other dimensions through them, using a combination of natural drug intoxicants, sacred ecstatic dancing and ritual sex. This is how extra-terrestrial Contact with alien races was made, and at the major sites where two or more Ley Lines cross was the way the telepathic Alien Wisdom Current was transmitted via the coast to coast Ley Line grid system. This explains how prehistoric Britain advanced itself as a whole, when most of it was covered in forests so dense and impenetrable that, as it is said, a squirrel could run from Cornwall to Anglesey without breaking cover once. The Gateways these sites represent are still existant, and may once again be unsealed and the cosmic pathways traversed.
As we have intimated above, here we recall the testament of Gaynor Sunderland and some of her family who in the mid to late 1970s witnessed coloured lights and alien contact in a field in the village of Oakenholt, just outside Flint, again in North Wales, and not too far from Aber. Gaynor said, "There's a doorway here - it goes between dimensions - different times. This is what lets Arna and Parz [the alien beings] come, when the conditions are right. Sometimes it's closed". Later in the darkness of the night, a small part of the field seemed lighter than the rest, and a Being fell through the portal by accident, and was sent back by Gaynor and her family. Gaynor stated, "It's from the wrong time. It's just pure energy. It's only a child of it's time and it's frightened...I have to send it back. Arna and Parz can't do it. It's far beyond their time and our time. But it's here. It's not in their time. I have to drive it back. If it stays it will grow and absorb energy from all around. Others will see it and nothing will stop it growing. It will become dangerous. Enormous energy will be absorbed". This shows a remarkable degree of occult knowledge for a young teenager. In 1974 again strange lights were seen in the skies of North Wales, on a cold, dark and spectral winter's night of the 23rd January. Blue, green and orange spheres were observed floating in a circle over the Cader Bronwen mountain near Llandrillo, one of the most bleakest and uninhabited regions in the UK. Later on a blue-green streak of light was seen crossing the sky immediately before a loud mysterious explosion occured at 8.38 PM, which was heard for miles around, as if a large object had either landed, crashed or was shot down, impacting itself into the mountain, in a case that along with the RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge affair in Suffolk nearly a decade later ranks as one of the most important officially witnessed and documented UFO incidents of the British Isles. The area (which is just East of Bala Lake and its monster) was cordoned off for several days afterwards when farmers wanting to tend their sheep, the press and not even the local police were allowed in, as specialized 'RAF' search teams looked for debris. Paul Devereux mentions the case in Earth Lights wherein he notes that the strange lights witnessed by the locals that heralded the arrival of the giant UFO were centered on a small hill on the side of Cader Bronwen called 'Arthur's Table'. A well preserved and interesting stone circle is situated on the bleak moorland here. On the night of the Cader Bronwen UFO incident, according to one of Devereux's researchers there was a mass of 'occult ghost light' sightings, including a white light over the Isle of Man and multiple balls of light in the sky above the Bristol Channel. (Bristol being both the UK center of Satanism and Military PsyWar Industrial Technological Research activity).
Near to Bala, a short distance away from Llandrillo people witnessed red disc-like lights encircling the Cader Bronwen mountain. A worker in a hotel at Bala noted that a day later, a group of strange non-local men arrived at the hotel (normally half-deserted in Winter), staying several days and refusing to discuss their business there. The nearby stone circle was checked and unusually high radiation levels were found in the vicinity. A nurse, Pat Evans, also came forward to say that she had been called to the scene by the Colwyn Bay police headquarters on the night of the incident and saw near the top of the mountain range a very large circular unknown craft that was glowing orange. She and her two teenage daughters, Diane and Tina, stood alone within a few hundred feet of it for ten minutes, before being told to leave by security guards. See Jenny Randles, UFO Retrievals, 1994. Officially "nothing was found", and the matter received little press publicity, being soon forgotten, as was (according to Janet and Colin Bord in Modern Mysteries of Britain, Grafton Books, 1988) a repetition of the same events two years later on the night of the 6th August 1976, when an explosion was heard over a ten-mile radius, and witnesses saw aerial lights. Another account describes that soon after the explosion horizontal lights were observed crossing the sky; that the moors were scoured by the police and afterwards Liverpool University took up the investigation. No crater or any other trace of an explosion or debris was found, and local gossip has it that it was a 'black hole' that had done the damage.
This could all be part of an ongoing omni-dimensional time portal operation being secretly developed as part of a Deep Black Military Experiment, possibly with alien assistance or technology. Remote and sparsely populated sites like the Cader Bronwen mountain with its adjacent stone circle would be an ideal location for this type of activity, and if any UFOs were attracted, they could normally land in relative secrecy. The so-called 'Philadelphia Experiment', real name Project RAINBOW, that represents an early stage of time/dimensional portal experimentation involving pulsed directional magnetic degaussers was chosen to be targeted on a US Warship for this reason also, as there would be few witnesses in the middle of the ocean apart from the ship's unfortunate unwitting crew themselves. Our research has also uncovered the bizarre use of sealions in secret Ministry of Defence experiments at Bala Lake in North Wales during WWII. Black and white film footage exists of this. The MOD claim that the creatures were being trained to "locate submarines", that is hardly plausible and sounds just like the usual blanket denial typical of the Whitehall mandarins, where a twenty-person witnessed UFO visitation that leaves scorch marks, widespread radio and tv interfearance and radar acknowledgement can be described as "atmospherical light refraction".
Something very fishy indeed was going on at Bala Lake. There are many local legends that tell of it containing a sea monster and sightings of a grey beast have all been reported there. We posit that such a creature must access the lake through deep underground tunnels that lead out to the sea for it to remain as elusive as it has. Tunnels that would be the perfect hiding place to house the equipment needed for secret experiments, as well as a suitable means of concealed travel for spaceships also. Alternatively, the grey beast of the Lake could be a thought-form or elemental entity created long ago by prehistoric witchcraft at the nearby stone circle, that the MOD were trying to harness and direct for their own ends, using the sealions as bait. The evidence that North Wales is being used for time travel and interdimensional portal creation experiments using the stone circles and other ancient sites here combined with psychotronic machine technology was strengthened in October 1998, when the headline: Beam Me Up - It Started In Bangor appeared in the local Bangor Mail newspaper, starting an article detailing the world's first successful 'Star Trek' style teleportation experiment that had taken place at Bangor University in Gwynedd, being led by Dr Samuel Braunstein and an un-named group of scientists from Caltech in America. They managed to move a particle of light over a metre to a new location, by first breaking it down and then reassembling it. Caltech is the same Institute that occultist and leading Thelemite Jack Parsons helped found. Jack Parsons was the leader of the Californian OTO who, around 1946, with the assistance of L. Ron 'Scientology' Hubbard and Marjorie Cameron, performed the now legendary 'Babalon Working' that opened a Doorway to other dimensions through which something flew in, resulting in the modern-wave UFO flap and appearance of the 'Gray' type alien, that came to a wider attention beyond Circles of Adepts a year afterwards in 1947 with pilot Kenneth Arnold's sighting of the 'flying saucers'.
So here we have a group of scientists from a well-funded and connected organization with known Occult and Intelligence affiliations, experimenting with teleporting tiny balls of light through hyperspace, at a University that happens to be situated in an area covered in Ley Lines and ancient sacred sites, with a high amount of self-amplifying quartz crystal present in the earth and mountains, a place long associated with flying light-spheres, UFOs and aliens and other-dimensional contact. Coincidence..?
There are many legends of the 'Giants' who once ruled old Britain, such as Gogmagog who was 18 feet tall, plus other huge humanoids who are part of the folklore of almost every region that has stone circles. There are huge depictions of both male and female giants carved into the very earth, such as the famous Cerne Abbas figure in Dorset with an enormous erect phallus, and the Long Man of Wilmington in Sussex who appears to be opening a doorway with his hands, a symbolic representation of the ancient rites that unsealed the gates to other dimensions, allowing the Giants to come through into our world. Rites that were brought to our shores by the eastern Adepts (there are Giants carved on the hillsides in India also). So it is obvious that the 'Giants' played a very important part in the beliefs of the early occupants of the British Isles and other countries. To the imagination of the ancient peoples, the god-like powers and abilities of extra-terrestrials could easily have been perceived and depicted as giant humans.
In his olde booke History, Geoffrey of Monmouth gives an account, based on much earlier sources, that the Wizard Merlin (the same one who appears in the King Arthur legends) told King Ambrosius of a stone circle called the Giant's Dance, situated near 'Killaraus' in Ireland, the stones originally coming from Africa. An expedition set out and brought back the Giant's Dance, with the help of Merlin's magic, to Salisbury Plain, where we now know it as Stonehenge. Note the association between King Arthur legends, stone circles and races of Giants or non-human aliens appears again in the important UFO incident near the stone circle situated on the hill known as 'Arthur's Table' on the Cader Bronwen mountain in North Wales as mentioned above. The legends of the Holy Grail that are integral to the Arthurian Quest Romances are of note here. The Holy Grail, that otherworldly object which is said to contain all Wisdom and gives eternal life, is most often symbolized as a chalice or cup. It is not a 'physical' artefact, but a pictorial interpretation, the body of the chalice respresenting the amplificatory cone of power generated during the sacred dance rituals at stone circles, which is sent upwards to create a Gateway or Window into other dimensions (seen as the base of the chalice), wherein the UFO is contacted. The chalice-cone also symbolizes the UFO beaming its energy or knowledge down to Earth. To the onlooking mind of ancient man standing outside the circle, a cup or chalice descending 'from heaven' would be seen from the Earth as being inverted. It would also resemble the sacred mushroom used in the rituals, which assisted him in attaining the non-local states of awareness vital to access the inter-dimensions. Thus we posit that the Giant's Dance at Stonehenge was not a name for the stones themselves, but a sacred ritual dance designed to attract the notice of the 'Giants', or extra-terrestrials, and that the Solstice Rituals that took place at this and other stone circles at specific times of the year were regular forms of traffick between the children of Earth and the Great Old Ones from trans-mundane other-dimensional deep space outer voids, who it is said initiated the current terrestrial lifewave.
Many ancient British sacred sites feature the word 'Giant' in their name, such as the Giant's Causeway and the Giant's Peak, so areas where the name appears could be indicative of a particularly potent site where extra-terrestrial contact took place and perhaps can still be performed more effectively compared to other locations. The continuance of these place-names to the present day is not by chance: it is part of a very definite plan instigated by Those that once visited these sites from afar. Many tall hills and man made mounds that are named after the 'Dragon' or 'Serpent' and contain that word in their place-name are other sites that usually stand at the junction or intersection point of several Leys, and should also be regarded as especially potent Places of Power. The hill tops and other high places are holy sites and centers of natural power, designated and set apart from the more ordinary zones by their elevation and remoteness. The Dragon is interchangable with the Serpent, both being symbolic animamorphic representations of the Chthonic Earth Force Kundalini Power that was raised during the rituals at such locations that bear these creatures names. In his book Earth Spirit, John Michell puts forth the proposition that the drawings of St Michael (incidentally, the Patron Saint of High Places) driving his lance into the Dragon symbolizes the tapping of the Earth Force by the 'acupuncture' system of standing stones.
As many researchers have realized, all kinds of strange phenomena occur and are observed over Leys - particularly at the nodal points where two or more Leys intersect, as amply shown by Stephen Jenkins in his book The Undiscovered Country. Ghosts, ghouls, UFOs, tulpas and poltergeists all make their presence felt at these strange places. Some people see them and some people don't - proving that the phenomena is paranormal. You have to tune into them. If, as we assert, that UFOs and their occupants come from another dimension, then Ley intersection nodes would be the ideal crossing-over points, or bridge between the two worlds, and a naturally condusive place where interdimensional contact can more easily take place, or "take the place". When someone thinks something, he or she actually creates a form on the Astral or even a higher plane, and this form is as real and objective to the intelligent beings on that plane, as our Earthly surroundings are to us. The Imagination can act as the medium and the messenger between different levels of existence, as each layer of the onion is part of a single whole and all connected. It is this effluvium that permeates and interpenetrates the entire matrix of the universe (or rather multiverse), that Initiates of the OKOK Society wield to such high advantage.
So let us travel back to Aber Falls in Wales and the globes of light that manifested there to so many people during the British religious mania and UFO/Paranormal flap of the early 1900s. It is worth noting that at the start of this bizarre period, in April 1904, just a few months before the phenomena reached its height during the Fortean 'Winter of Weirdness' of 1904-1905, the renowned English Magician Aleister Crowley received The Book of the Law in Cairo, Egypt, dictated to him by a supernatural being named Aiwass. This occurred shortly after the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn had broken up into two opposing factions of left and right hand path adherents, the schism erupting due to a who-should-be-leader dispute between the then Head of the Order Samuel Lidell Mathers and the contender Crowley, also a member; both disputing exactly who out of the two had genuine contact, astrally or otherwise, with the mysterious Secret Chiefs who governed and advanced the affairs of the Order.
Crowley spent some months of 1904-1905 at Boleskine House on the shores of Loch Ness in Scotland. He believed that occult energy emanating from the nearby mountain named 'Mealfuorvonie' was helpful to his magickal progress, as was the whole peculiar atmosphere surrounding the Loch, a veritable magnet for Wyrd going by the local folklore. Interestingly, the famous Loch Ness Monster first made its appearance just after Aleister Crowley had given up midway through his performance of the year-long Sacred Magic of Abramelin at Boleskine House, a serious magickal ritual that involves the summoning up of both good and evil spirits. Near to Loch Ness is a rock formation long known by the locals as the 'Rock of Curses', where witches have held nocturnal Sabbats since prehistoric times. Also in the vicinity is Loch Morar, the deepest lake in Britain, which is associated with paranormal phenomena such as unexplained flying lights and human disappearances, mirrored by supernatural Lake Whitney near Dallas in the USA.
Loch Ness itself is seamed with Ley Lines and nodal points where two or more Leys cross are situated nearby. In fact, Loch Ness has a major Ley Line running right down the middle of it, and in 1976 Dr. Robert Rines, the wealthy patents lawyer turned Loch Ness Monster witness and investigator, using high tech equipment such as the Edgerton underwater camera linked to a Raython sonar scan, claimed to have discovered a megalithic stone circle in the Loch some sixty feet under the surface. Another notable researcher of the area is Ted Holiday, whose book, The Goblin Universe, Llewellyn, 1986, documents a web of synchronicities the author experienced on his quest, involving Dr. John Dee, Aleister Crowley, UFOs and the Faery Folk. His account of experiencing paranormal occurences around Loch Ness are best read in the original. During Crowley's stay at Boleskine House in the Winter of Weirdness he engaged in magical warfare with Mathers over the aforementioned Golden Dawn dispute, each protagonist sending armies of evil spirits to each other across the aether, Mathers employing Abra-Melin spirits, and Crowley counter-attacking with Goetic demons. Could the strange and disturbing supernatural phenomena that Britain experienced at this period be due to the magical side effects of this intense and prolonged occult war?
There is a more sinister side to the Aber area of Wales we are discussing. At least one reported fatality has occurred at the Aber Falls waterfall itself, an ex-RAF man and experienced climber who plunged to his death whilst crossing the shallow water flowing over the rocks around 1999. More recently, in May 2002, a party of 17 schoolchildren and teachers from the Jewish Senior Boys School in Salford got into difficulties as they were descending the rocks of Aber Falls waterfall, seven having to be airlifted to hospital, whilst others were stuck on a ledge 100 feet up or had slipped down a steep incline, one boy gaining serious head injuries. (I later found out that this latter event had actually occurred as I was writing up the former account of the fatality at Aber for the first draft of this article). The local newspaper, the Bangor Mail said that all but one of the group "were described as walking wounded". This is an interesting choice of words as there is a little known local legend of a renegade monk that lived in the locality, who cut up various animals, sewing different parts of them back together to make a new macabre hybrid creature, which he then attempted to reanimate back to life through Alchemical processes and Black Magic Rites. Eerily reminiscent of another one of the "walking wounded" perhaps? This was not merely an example of 'Jenny Haniver' - the collective name used by antiquarians to describe man-made fabulous and fantastic beasts that were a popular item of curio in the 16th and 17th Centuries, when many non-existent creatures were manufactured - some of them most skillfully - from body parts taken from animals, fishes and birds.
Although this is unconfirmed by normal modes of evidence, that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't true, and besides, "Where there's smoke there's fire". A 'legend' or 'myth' known on our world may originate from the registering in a psychically sensitive person of subtle impressions emanating from a real event taking place on another realm of existence, that somehow relates to the physical environment of the seer in some way, mirrored on another dimension or parallel world, the information filtering through perhaps symbolically as a didactic message or teaching concerning the seer's village or country. The description of the vision or experience is told to several friends, and perhaps the local priest, then spreads naturally to a wider audience, eventually becoming known by the whole village and passed on to future generations, just as it was intended to be...
