LEVELLING UP
I have a newspaper headlines work in Levelling Up (no publisher stated, 2023), a free numbered 500 limited edition affair of orange cover and square pages consisting of mostly images, compiled and edited by Jason Williams & Simon Barker, with the help of the Eastbourne Culture Group. This is a definite above-average art 'zine' item. I don't know where it's available from or if it still is. You could try here.

SOME FREE IMAGERY
The collaging continues, utilising both found and original material. The first one is by me. The second one is by Rael & me:

These two are by me, consisting of torn posters found in situ during a searching jaunt in Bangor this month:

REGARDING YES OR NO
An image from the highly successful YES or NO book launch party that was part of the Last Routemaster Show on 28 October 2023 in East London, plus images of the special slipcased editions produced by Dr Adolf Steg, that have since been acquired:

You can read the YES or NO press release here, and there are a few of the YES or NO standard editions still available for purchase. More details can be found here.

THE NEW ART

Yea, some writing projects are dragging on, namely Mark Reeve's Mediascope 002 and Lore Orbit, but there you go... Other works have surpassed them for now in attention, without a vote. The walking hands. Ethos 53 is a mostly image-only thing of colour poetry featuring various artists who present interpenetrating subjects including Earth Mysteries, obscurantist politics, social conformity, the environmental mentality and drug-induced lycanthropy. Discard: The Collected Trance Erects is a substantial assembly of writings realised by Mark Reeve during 2022-2023 in various states of non-ordinary consciousness obtained through yogic, magical and inebriant praxis that covers conspiracy, worldly and otherworldly matters. YES or NO: New & Old British Writing, compiled by Mark Reeve & Dr Adolf Steg, both of whom also contribute texts, is an A5-sized 112-page professionally-printed perfect-bound paperback that features articles by 17 authors from the authentic counterculture in a hand-numbered edition of 40. More details can be found here.

RADIO APPEARANCES

Mark Reeve and friends were featured in a transmission of the Radiophrenia 2023 festival courtesy of this same-named temporary art radio station from the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. Namely, Actuality, broadcast on 28 August 2023 at 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM on 29 August 2023, a few days before the largest Full Supermoon of the year on 31 August, that is also the second Full Supermoon of this month, the first being on 1 August. More information is here. Mark Reeve also made two hour-long audio mixes of OKOK and his solo and collaborative material for Chandor Gloomy's MK Ultraterrestrial Broadcasting - Obscure dwellers and hi-jacked shows show on Radio On Berlin, transmitted on 31 July 2023 and perhaps in another month that year, that he later slightly tweaked. These can now be downloaded in full: Mix 1 is here and Mix 2 is here.

AUDIO REMINDING

A sonic I'd forgotten about has been uploaded to YouTube, namely the Culver & PamelA Mind B.and audio-tape Untitled collaboration (Matching Head, Matching Head 74), released in 1998. Culver did the most input on this tranceaic drone noise item, that can be heard in full here. Real nice I reckon. The PamelA Mind B.and was Mark Reeve & Liam Olan, a side-project of the OKOK Research Bureau (ORB). The PamelA Mind B.and noise track 'Starbloom' from 1996 is fully listenable here.

PORTAL, CRAFT & PILOT

The source for these photographs is unknown but the imagery seems real enough judging by the longing.

Some telling images I recorded during a walk in North Wales that were later superimposed upon themselves by myself:

VORTEXUAL RESEARCH - THE MOIST EDITION
Dr Adolf Steg has created and privately published this unique version of Vortexual Research (Spook Press, 2022), housed in a sealed plastic bag, that is now available in a limited edition of one, although not from him, me or perhaps anybody else, as by the time you read this the work is probably floating on tides somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean or transforming at the bottom of this liquid mass. Dr Steg can be contacted here.

MERGED SHADOWS

The silent static version of my Shadows Merged (2022) - twelve contemplative monochrome digital collages with a bespoke soundtrack by the artist - can be seen here.

NON-PROFIT

Yes my malarkeys, a new revised and enlarged edition of Non-Profit by the Poster Boys (Rael & Mark Reeve) has just been published by the Spook Press. This collection of pro-Situationist and post-Situationist public service announcement ontological jolt agitprop art can be downloaded as a free PDF here.

THE EXPERT TRIM

A new edition of The Extra Lane has just been published by the Spook Press. This features abstracted reviews of thirteen long-deleted OKOK Society audio-cassettes from the 1990s, that impart a deeper understanding of OKOKian sonic structure and strategy. Main text by Liam Olan. Additional text by Mark Reeve. Artworks by Rael. It is available as a free PDF here.

DRIFTING MAIN

A night victory parade down by the spools was in order, so we traipsed along to the meeting point, which quickly became a vantage point for those of the extended eye. Our black cloaks draped around silver suits, beckoning the voices in the background holes, a come to think of it traffick. Next weekend have you attended the photo-negative wedding?

NEW TRIUMPH

She is a model next to grey, self-upskirting, the thighs' eyes, red fingernail skies. It's like an elevator, 13th Floor beyond the green door. I suspect this one is Japanese, and also get a vague X-Files vibe. Definite Tiger Balm and more archly designed designer drugs on my side. A mirror in the corner, orange postcard from Lapland, Norse adverts. We turn towards a broken egg swirled in a clear glass vase...minimum conversation.

A BRILLIANT BICYCLE

This looks very similar to the Trade Bike (aka: "Butcher's Bike") I operated in the 1980s. Single-geared, Bible black, built like a tank. The tyres were so chunky, with car-valve innertubes that could be pumped up to perfection for free at the local garage. Could go anywhere if possible. You really felt it under you and could get right behind it with the manpower. Used to carry one person in the front basket and another sitting on the rear cast-iron mudguard. A total groove and what a sight. They need to be made again; enough of the mountain craze.

MARGARET'S SKIRT

The Thatcher Years are still weird, although for a long time the Conservative Government left unemployed weirdos alone to pursue their peculiar paths. One could travel the country and get paid wherever. It was the Labour Party who got tough on the economic conscientious objectors and art-proles, fixed them in Jagger Wood, dragging a clock full of jellied babies, their birthrights in a regimented cabbage patch, umbilicalled to internet, taxes paid for goofs.

SNOW DREAM

The flake trips were falling, gradually forming very strange sculptures beside the Snowmen. I walked amongst them, cold in grizzle, the white just right, selecting those to come with me to the iced lake for a slippery disco, dusting noughts.
